Nikon D90 and "auto" bracketing

This is what I have wrote about Nikon D80 bracketing:

Bracketing. Why you can't do it with self timer mode? Why must we press shutter release button for each »bracketing« separately? If anywhere, than with bracketing we do not need shaked images. They must match perfectly!

I don't know if Nikon engineers wanted to, but they fixed this problem. Now you can have an "auto bracketing" in self timer mode. In menu C3 choose self timer and in same menu select the number of shoots you want to take with self timer. This feature (number of shoots) does the trick. Set it to 3 shoots and (to make bracketing easier) set self timer to 2 seconds. "Engage" bracketing. Press shutter relese button and Nikon D90 takes 3 shoots automaticaly. Each exposed differently, as you set it in bracketing option. Nice, ha?

New baby Mara in Ljubljana ZOO

Today I was really glad that Nikon D90 have movie mode. As usual when I have nothing to do, I went to Ljubljana ZOO to take some pictures. When I come to the mara and alpaca enclosure, I saw a little black fur-ball on the ground. It was new born baby Mara. I must have missed whelping for a couple of minuts at the most. Mother licked the new born and after he struggle to climb to a den, they both dissapeare in it.

VR would be nice, since even lense (Sigma 100-300 f/4) mounted on tripod can't prevent shaking and "jellying". But any way, I was very happy to shoot that movie.

Misfits in HDR; Nikon D90 movie

On a foggy saturday morning, Misfits (here is his picture of the week on the Photo.net) and I have decided, that we would take some foggy pictures in Mostec-Ljubljana. Well, there was fog all arround woods, but not in it. In the woods it was pretty clear. We take some pictures any way. Since Peter alias Misfits like to have little HDR applied in his landscapes, he did use brackateing most of the time. And of course, I have taken some movies with Nikon D90 and Sigma 50mm f/1,4 ( which is, BTW, very good lense).

Nikon VR effectiveness in movie mode

There was a discussion going on e-fotografija, whether VR (lense stabalization) is working in movie mode on Nikon D90 or not. I said that it does not. I was wrong. It does working. And it's workin just fine. Here is a movie with VR OFF and VR ON, so you can check for yourself.

Nikon D90 movie-Tivoli Ljubljana

Focus and zoom rings on Sigma 17-70 are not the smoothest ones. :)
